The Institute Mission
The Aveda Institute’s mission is to provide quality, professional education and training to successfully pass the state licensure exam by:
- creating an environment of trust and respect;
- encouraging a commitment to teamwork;
- promoting personal and professional development and;
- inspiring the continuous quest for knowledge and growth.
By supporting our Future Professionals (students) in this manner, we prepare them for successful careers within their respective field and enable them to provide services that exceed our guest’s expectations.

Message From The Founder
At Aveda Institute Denver, Tucson and Provo/Salt Lake City we strive to teach good habits. Our mission is "greatness." The exact nature of those good habits and how we incorporate them in our organization can be found in our future professionals. The text of the “good habits curriculum” becomes the inculcation of values, knowledge, team spirit, discipline, consistency, standards, ideals, balance, character, details, hard work, love, self-control, loyalty, diligence and more. These habits are the foundation and creation of the Institute and are ultimately available to everyone. There is no patent pending, copyright law, or No trespassing sign that prohibits the use of these leadership “secrets." All you need is the will to look hard enough within. Balance is crucial in everything we do. Along with love it’s one of the most important things in life. We strive for balance and teach our future professionals balance is necessary for competitive Greatness: the body has to be in balance; the mind has to be in balance; emotions must be in balance. Balance is important everywhere and in everything we do.
The joy and great satisfaction I derived from coaching – working with and teaching young baseball players, helping them reach their potential in contributing to the team’s common goals – ultimately surpassed outscoring an opponent, the standings, even championships. What occurred in our practices is what gave me the most joy and satisfaction – teaching others to bring forth the best of which they are capable. Ultimately, I believe that’s what leadership is all about: helping others to achieve their own greatness by helping the organization to succeed. How you accomplish balance, leadership, and greatness is the focus of our education at the Aveda Institute Denver. My greatest joy is now developing talented future professionals into the worlds greatest hairdressers and spa technicians.
